Karelia Software will be participating in the "Indie Relief" event, in which over 100 Mac software companies are donating the proceeds from their January 20 sales to Haiti earthquake relief charities. "Many people have chosen Sandvox to build their websites because it’s easier to get one’s site properly indexed by Google than it is when using, say, Apple’s iWeb software." "We’re always looking for ways to ensure that websites built with Sandvox are easy for the Search engines to index and list," said Dan Wood, president of Karelia Software. This Search Engine Optimization (SEO) feature joins the many other search-engine-friendly features that are part of the Sandvox application, including proper use of header tags, customizable meta tags and title tags, and search-engine-visible graphical text replacement. The principle change in this update is that newly-created web pages now use dashes, rather than underscores, to separate words in a web page URL, following the advice of a spokesperson for Google. Karelia Software also announced that it will be participating in tomorrow’s "Indie Relief" charity event. This update, free to all registered users, fixes a few minor issues, improves website compatibility with iPhone web browsers, and improves upon visibility of Sandvox-built websites to Search engines. Karelia Software announced today the immediate availability of Sandvox(R) 1.6.6, a maintenance update to its award-winning website creation application for Mac OS X.
